Passionate about nurturing the early bond between mother (birthing person) and baby in a gentle responsive way.
I am Romy, a qualified postnatal doula living in Reigate with my husband and children, aged 15 and 12.
Whilst my kids were little, I trained as a Peer Supporter with Baby Café, helping support local mums reach their feeding goals. In 2016 I joined the NHS on the postnatal ward as part of the infant feeding team. It was through this role that I realised the importance of postnatal support. In 2019 I felt strongly about the need to help families beyond the first few days and trained as a postnatal doula.
As new parents, we struggled with our first baby, who had trouble sleeping. Had my husband and I invested in postnatal support, we would have been better equipped to understand what was going on. This would have reassured us and given me courage to follow my gut instincts and enjoy more fully his early months.
I am calm, compassionate and can always find something to laugh about.
I love spending time with our children, listening to their stories, finding new recipes with the vegetables we’ve grown at our allotment, exploring in the camper van, running, playing the piano and being a listener to friends and family. I love being outdoors, especially by the sea.
